another month, brrrrr, chili
another month has passed. little a is now 7 months old and definitely not so little when held next to a newborn! she can finally hold that giant noggin of hers up for a couple minutes while sitting unaided. she still accidentally rolls over when reaching for something in the pre-crawling position. c thinks this action is hysterical. (the look of surprise on her face is pretty great).
we survived another round of colds. m was pretty much a walking zombie for a week, but the worst was over before the true cold hit. we're looking forward to temps in the 40s today after 3 days barely above 0. c has been spoiled --- she's used to it snowing and then being in the 40s or higher. she will finally be allowed to play outside today. m was mean and refused to let her out for a picnic when it was only 4.
a bowl of snow helped pacify c's desire to play outside. the act of gathering the snow was cold enough that she realized m was actually right.
we snuggled and kept warm the best we could.
we took tons of pictures in an attempt to get a suitable infant passport photo.
the above photo would not pass government regulations, but it's worth sharing with you! (infant mouths can't be open).
a had no problem being stuck inside. we got our house clean and hosted another very fun scary movie party. m vowed to not make c another elaborate costume until she's older since the girl who wanted to be a dragon refused to wear her costume. m's hoping she'll pull it back out in a few months, but next year the picky girl will be choosing something from her huge stash of dress up clothes. other than being short a dragon, the chili cook off was a hit and will become an annual affair. mark your calendars, and plan to join us next year!
