Castle Chronicles

 "i'm a princess"  "i'm a dragon" a lazy week with extra days off for m, a snow day and cancelled field trip.  it was nice, but we did have to try to break cabin fever a few times. we dug our way out from the first blizzard (by the technical definition), only to find ourselves facing another one.  this is what happens when church is cancelled. then we dug ourselves out from blizzard #2 (by the technical definition of course).  we drove into town, had lunch with friends, played games, and drove back home safely with no trouble.

we're not sure how or when this knowledge sunk in exactly, but c randomly decided to tell m her whole name in the car the other day.  then she actually repeated the trick for the camera. we set up our "new to us" giant tent in the basement.  c loves to run in circles inside it and open and close all of the windows and go in & out the door.  now we just have to figure out how to make it "two room."  we have ideas, but time's another story some day we might have time for that. not this week though.  it's amazing how much our routine gets out of whack when m works an extra day.  working all day monday made for crazy times of playing catch up the rest of the week. we survived and even found a few moments to relax. we know we have life pretty good with m only working part-time, but life gets crazy when something extra pops up during the school year.  we like our time with c, and miss it when we don't get it.  how could we not miss that cu...

"i go get dressed, mama."  after 5 minutes of extreme quiet, mama goes to investigate and finds a great helper. we've been busier than normal lately, requiring us to hire extra babysitters and thinking going out on our own may not always be worth the price.  babysitters aren't cheap these days.  but then, 2 year olds aren't generally allowed on shooting ranges. that's right, we're armed and j will have his conceal carry license within a few months.  m wants more practice before she'd feel comfortable to carry.  m would also like to practice without intense swat team instructor dude in her face! thankfully, we don't really feel as though we absolutely need this protection yet, but we feel better having it in case a need would arise. j & m also spent a night out at j's winter work party and c got to play with another babysitter.  she loves the young ones that chase her nonstop.  wish we could say we're looking f...
