Castle Chronicles

well, not much exciting in the last week (it's much easier to blog one week at a time than the 3week note i did in the last post). c has been busy walking, running, "reading"and "talking."  her vocabulary is growing, but she still generalizes a lot.  all food is "sauce."  all drinks are "juice."  all animals are dogs.  all animals sound like monkeys, except dogs because everyone knows that dogs say woof.  she loves to point out everyone's eyes (poking them while saying "eye" is the best).  she knows ears, hair, belly and nose, and tries to say mouth and arm.  she's still obsessed with socks and shoes, and now says hat as well.  she signs please, eat, more, "all done," and book.  she gives us attitude when she doesn't get what she wants, but thankfully we're more stubborn than she is. she randomly decides to copycat other words she hears and actions that she sees.  (much to j's amusement).

m's computer is back up and running so prepare for an abbreviated long update. since we blogged last, we've had a lord of the rings triathalon (m's b-day party).  c wore a pretty large dress (based on one of arwen's movie dresses).  m made lots of hobbit style food (2nd breakfast: mushroom and bacon quiches, elevensies: strawberries & cream and scones, luncheon: cold meats and cheese and blackberry tarts, afternoon tea: fresh fruit and honeycakes, dinner: coney stew (made by j), supper: salted pork, snacks: lembas, candied pipes, rings of power, rootbeer barrels. we've also had a couple thunder snow storms leading to a day off for m, lengthening spring break.  we desperately needed the moisture so we don't complain about snow in april, especially when it's 70 two days later. we celebrated Easter with good friends and their family. c enjoyed her 1st Easter bucket.  she was very excited to find crackers and cheerios inside of colorful plastic eggs....
