another round of Magic Kingdom fun

We debated a little about trying Legoland, but since we had unused tickets for Disney, we decided to head back to the Magic Kingdom. The second time around was definitely busier, which definitely changed the experience but we managed okay.

When you don't stay on property, you get the added bonus of needing to take the monorail or the ferry from the parking lot to the park. We opted for the ferry. All of this added fun led to us getting into the park much later than we thought, and the wait for meeting Tink was already up to 35 minutes. We skipped the wait and headed to Fantasyland.

We still managed to snag a Fast Pass for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which we again took advantage of the Rider Switch Pass so that C could ride twice.
We took little A over to play by Dumbo, while we waited since even the tea cups had a growing line  (she did ride once with Grandpa) . M surprised the girls with a snack when they were done riding Dumbo. The line for cinnamon rolls at Gaston's Tavern was too long so Mickey pretzels won.

We found a cafe to grab sandwiches, snagged a table somewhat near the castle, so that the girls could see the Dance Party Parade followed by the Royal Friendship Faire Castle Stage Show. While we were watching and eating, J finished and wandered back to get our stroller, noticing a line to meet Merida. He offered to wait in line while we finished watching the show since the girls were pretty entranced. We finished the show just in time to join J in line.

After meeting Merida, we caught our last fastpass for Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid. The afternoon events then become a little muddled in our memories, but at some point we rode the train again in hopes of letting the girls rest (this time we did the full circuit around the park 1.5 times). C slept, but A managed to fight off sleep. We wandered through the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, skipped the hour line to meet Jasmine, cooled off with some fruit slush drinks, smashed some pennies, and scheduled a fast pass to meet Rapunzel and Tiana who were paired together.

We rode It's a Small World again, noting that many lines were over 90 minutes wait time in the stand by lines. We began a search for a sit down restaurant for dinner. We found the Jungle Navigation Skipper Canteen, and managed to sneak in with only a 15 minute wait. There was way too much food, but it was all delicious. The girls especially liked dessert!

We rode the Pirates of the Caribbean and decided to call it a night, unless the line for Tink happened to be reasonable. It wasn't so we took the Monorail back to the parking lot. 
J, M, and Grandma took one last stab at finding the supposedly HUGE Disney outlet. Grandpa stayed back and put the girls to bed. We did find an outlet, but it was not as amazing as many Disney lovers claimed it was. We found a couple decent deals and headed back for bed.

we spent the week recovering from m's tummy bug (when m goes down, everyone has to deal).  m never wants to get that bug again (especially not while c's still in diapers)!  we took it easy, and all are feeling better.  we hung around home, enjoyed some sunshine and a dusting of fresh snow. c got her 1st true lesson regarding newton's laws of motion and frictionless surfaces.  she had a great time until an overexcited dog bowled her over, which didn't really phase her much since she seems to want to go outside to play all the time now.  unfortunately, it's muddy now & m doesn't want to wash clothes after baby c crawls through the mud!  once she learns to walk, we'll be spending a lot more time outside. c's been busy perfecting her newest phrase, "uh-oh."  she greatly enjoys dropping everything simply so she can say it over and over again  we're trying to teach her that chucking things across the room doesn't really create an appr...

c demonstrated (or attempted to show) her independence a lot this week.  she wanted to eat by herself despite not being able to wield silverware effectively.  she wanted to go up AND down the stairs by herself (which we're not quite ready to do --- she's still pretty wobbly and easily distracted so we're trying to give her a little more space with a 2 or 3 step head-start).  she figured out how to stand up on her own and stay standing without support.  she then discovered dancing & bouncing was more fun when not holding on to something (even if it did lead to a few extra falls). c discoverd the fun of a very old rocking horse. she discovered signing gets her things, but she seems to be a little confused on what they really mean 'cause she'll do "all done" directly followed by "eat"  while she's still eating.  she likes to do "all done"  while getting her diaper changed.  that hasn't really worked out for her though sin...

Aryanne Idril DeFilippo (4/11/14) Cora Luthien DeFilippo (12/4/2010) Arya Cora Arya Cora Arya Cora   After several false alarms, Aryanne graced us with her presence at 2:08 pm on Friday, April 11 of 2014.  We arrived at the hospital in time for m to get admitted and start pushing.  While labor with c was long and drawn out, labor with a was quick and brutal.  m preferred the latter.  48 hours later brought us all safely home.  little a has thus far been a smaller, slightly calmer version of c.  we can't wait for u to meet her.
