apples, bullies, chums

on a whim, we took a jaunt down to penrose, co for apple day on saturday.  we caught the tail end of a "parade," enjoyed some overpriced bbq and free apple cobbler.  then we headed out to the orchard to pick some apples.  apparently it was not a good year for apples in co.  the trees were pretty picked over and the apples were small, but we found a few decent ones at the back of the orchard.

we didn't get many apples, but the kids had fun and c actually slept pretty well saturday night.

we discovered c's been dealing with some anxiety about a 3 year old bully at the babysitter.  he apparently had been threatening to punch her in the face, which had her anxiety level up pretty high.  a talk with the sitter who then confronted the boy's parents led to a better day today, which we hope is a good sign.  no 2 year old should have to deal with bullies!

it's a good thing c has plenty of sweet church chums to allow her to have some positive social interaction to balance out the recent negativity.  hopefully, interactions will become a little more normal in the days to come.
