we survived our1st year (c survived us). it hasn't flown by. it hasn't crept by. it just was: the good, the bad, and everything in between. it's hard to remember life before little c. sure we had more freedom, but we keep reminding ourselves that our lives really weren't that exciting before c joined us.
watching c grow over the last couple of months has really been fun. she's developing quite a unique little personality (with some quirks we love as well as those that might present a challenge). we really have no idea where the stubborn streaks are coming from!

c had her 12 month check-up this morning. she really does not like going to the dr, getting poked and prodded, weighed, all while being mostly naked when it's only 12 degrees outside. she survived. she weighed in at 16 lbs, 8 oz and still measures 28.5in long. for now, they're blaming her 5th percentile weight on genetics, but if she doesn't gain some more height soon, they'll want to run tests. they recommended a height & weight check once a month. we've got a measuring tape. friends have a baby scale. woohoo, that means we'll keep c out of the dr. office until her 18month check up.
did i mention the high was only 12 degrees? that's not normal. it's supposed to snow and then melt the next day --- not snow 4 days in a row with temps below freezing. -7 tonight, 20 tomorrow, 45 on wednesday (that's more like it). it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas though...
empty boxes wrapped and placed under the Christmas tree, ornaments and decorations hung, card design on it's way, gifts being made or bought & shipped, parties being planned, etc
